Meet Our Citywide Outreach Ministries Staff

Dr. Mary Lee Johnson

Dr. Mary Lee Johnson's skills and abilities are an asset to the Body of Christ. Dr. Johnson applies in-depth knowledge, diverse skills, and dedication. Everyday she continues to be a Kingdom Builder.

Dr. Johnson received the Houston Chronicle's 1999 Literacy Volunteer Service Award at the Mayor's Literacy Leadership Awards Breakfast at the Wortham Theater Center in 2000.

On October 2, 2002, the City of Houston Councilmen appointed Dr. Mary Lee Johnson to Position 15 of the Houston Read Commission. The Mayor went on to say "As Director of Citywide Outreach, Dr. Johnson brings excellent leadership to the board as an actively involved, longstanding member of the Houston Literacy Community." Dr. Johnson still holds Position 15 of the Houston Read Commission.

In 2003, Technology For All-Houston announced Citywide Outreach Learning Center as Houston's 2003 Community Technology Center of the Year.

Once again, Dr. Johnson and Citywide Outreach Ministries were recognized by the City of Houston. On Tuesday, May 1, 2007, City Council and Mayor White gave a proclamation to the literacy providers that have the CTC (Community Technology Centers) in Houston.

Dr. Johnson holds degrees in the following:

• Doctoral Degree - Cornerstone University
• Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology - Cornerstone University
• Bachelor of Christian Ministry - Christian Bible College and Seminary

Pastor Willie Johnson

Pastor Willie Johnson serves as an ABE tutor and assists in coordinating activities at the Learning Center. From Jackson, Mississippi, Pastor Johnson has many years of experience helping people in disadvantaged communities.

Erik Johnson

Erik Johnson is a 1995 graduate of Houston's Klein Forest High School. Erik grew up with the Learning Center and inherited his passion for community service. Since graduation, Erik has been a devoted volunteer, continuing his parents' vision through adult education and GED preparation instruction. In addition, Erik can help develop resumes and set up free email accounts.

Gloria Montgomery

Gloria Montgomery has a passion for English as a Second Language (ESL). Non-English-Speaking students who visit Citywide Outreach will benefit from Gloria's knowledge as they learn to read and write English.

Dr. Geraldine Scott

Dr. Geraldine Scott works primarily with the computer literacy program. She is proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of products and other essential software tools. Geraldine will also help familiarize students with basic internet tools and applications. Like Erik, Dr. Scott can help develop resumes and set up free email accounts.
